01How does a benefit sheet become a patient price?+

Provide the prescription and the benefit report, including every page. OptiAlly reads the benefit information and uses your configured practice pricing to calculate the estimated patient cost for the selected lens options. Staff review the details and confirm the final quote.

02Does it verify eligibility or submit insurance claims?+

No. Reading a report you supply is different from checking live eligibility or submitting a claim. Keep your existing eligibility and claims workflow, and confirm coverage before completing the sale.

03Which benefit documents should we try first?+

Work with benefit sheets for VSP, EyeMed, Davis / Versant, Medicaid, Health First, Fidelis, Emblem, Spectera, and Metroplus. Add any insurance with custom plan setup. Use a complete, readable report rather than just a member ID card. Plan details vary, so bring a de-identified example of the reports your practice uses to the demo.

04What if a photo is unclear or a detail looks wrong?+

Check the source document and resolve unclear or missing information before relying on the price. Do not assume a missing copay or allowance means zero. The quote is an estimate, and staff remain responsible for reviewing benefit details and final pricing.

05Whose prices does it use?+

Your practice’s configured products and prices, together with the benefit information used for the quote. During setup, review your catalog, pricing, and accepted plans. During the demo, check an example against the way your practice would normally price it.

06Can we emphasize our preferred products?+

Yes. Configure the lens brands, treatments, packages, prices, and promotions you want your team to present. Keep recommendations matched to each patient’s prescription and needs.

07We already have an EMR.+

Keep it. OptiAlly starts where your EMR stops. It does not replace scheduling, eligibility, records, or point of sale. It picks up at the optometrist’s handoff and helps your team finish the optical visit.

08My staff won’t learn another app.+

There is less to learn, not more. OptiAlly reads the prescription and benefits, handles the calculations, and guides the next question. Staff do not need to memorize every plan before they can quote confidently.

09Is a BAA available, and can uploaded photos be deleted?+

Yes. A Business Associate Agreement (BAA) and photo deletion are available now. Review the BAA and your practice’s privacy requirements before using patient information. For a walkthrough of photo deletion or to request the BAA, email hello@getoptially.com.

10What should we upload for a demo?+

Use fictional or de-identified prescriptions and benefit reports. Remove names, dates of birth, member IDs, authorization numbers, and other identifying details. Please don’t email patient documents with your demo request.

11Why not use a lens company’s free app?+

Those tools recommend their own brand. OptiAlly is brand-neutral and configured around what you actually sell.

12Does it integrate with my EMR?+

Not yet. OptiAlly works beside your existing system and covers a different part of the visit. We will not claim integrations that do not exist.

13Can it read handwritten prescriptions?+

Yes. OptiAlly is designed to read photos of prescriptions and pre-test sheets, including handwritten ones, then translate the information into useful coaching and recommendations for staff.

14Does it calculate insurance benefits?+

Yes. Take one photo of the benefits and OptiAlly translates the plan, applies the practice’s configured pricing, and calculates the quote. Staff get a clear patient responsibility and plain-English explanation instead of doing the math themselves.

15Which vision plans can it help read?+

OptiAlly helps your team work with benefit documents for VSP, EyeMed, Davis / Versant, Medicaid, Health First, Fidelis, Emblem, Spectera, and Metroplus, then apply your configured benefits and pricing to the quote. Add any insurance with custom plan setup. Benefits and document formats vary; review extracted details and confirm coverage before finalizing a quote.

16Can it warn staff about a problem job?+

Yes. OptiAlly can surface combinations that deserve a second look, such as a high prescription in a rimless frame, a lens material outside normal parameters, or a lens that is not available as a stock option.

17What do we need for setup?+

Have your logo, practice details, current fee slip or price list, lens catalog, and accepted insurance plans ready. Review the imported information before using it. Launch subscribers receive a founder-run setup call; setup time depends on the complexity of your pricing.

18What if we don’t have a fee slip?+

Use the guided interview. Choose the brands, materials, and designs you sell and how you position them. OptiAlly creates a focused starting grid instead of showing every product on the market.

19Can we turn modules off?+

Yes. Every module can be toggled on or off per practice.

20Will patients see OptiAlly branding?+

The experience is customized to your practice. Add your logo, colors, products, and prices so Patient View feels like your own app. Your practice stays front and center.

21Do patients log in?+

No. Patient View is a presentation mode your staff can turn toward the patient. Patients never need an account.
