A worked VSP Choice example
The sample on this site uses a fictional single-vision prescription and a de-identified VSP Choice report. The selected non-Altair/Marchon frame costs $250. With the example’s $180 allowance and 20% discount on the $70 overage, the estimated frame responsibility is $56.
The remaining example lines are single vision $0, polycarbonate $35, ZEISS Platinum $85, materials copay $25, and UV backside $10. Together with the $56 frame responsibility, the estimate is $211. Exam fees are not included.
These figures describe one report and one product selection. They are not standard VSP prices or a promise that another patient’s plan has the same allowance, discounts, or copays.
Review the report before choosing the price
- Check that the report is complete and appropriate for the member and service date.
- Check the selected frame against the applicable allowance and any brand-specific conditions.
- Review the material and each enhancement, including any separate materials copay.
- Confirm benefit eligibility and final pricing through your existing process.
